East Kalimantan Provincial Government Explains Reasons Only Isran Accompanies Jokowi to IKN Camp

East Kalimantan Provincial Government (East Kalimantan) ensure the agenda of the camp at the zero point of the national capital (IKNThe new RI, which will be named Nusantara in Sepaku District, will only be followed by Governor Isran Noor and Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

Meanwhile, it is known that other governors will not join the camp, and will return to their respective regions.

“Yes, only Mr. Jokowi and Mr. Isran are camping at IKN. The other governors have returned,” explained the Head of the East Kalimantan Regional Secretariat Adpim Bureau, Ivan Syafranudin to CNNIndonesia.com on Monday (14/3) afternoon.

He explained that previously it was scheduled that five regional heads in Kalimantan would camp at IKN with Jokowi. For the latest schedule changes, Ivan admitted that his party did not know anything.

“We don’t know the reason. Those who take care of the agenda of the camp are the palace. We just go with it,” he added.

Ivan explained that apart from the Governor of East Kalimantan, it is certain that there are several state officials accompanying Jokowi to camp in the core area for IKN this evening. Some of them are Chairman of the MPR RI Bambang Soesatyo (Bamsoet), Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of Environment and Forestry (Minister of LHK) Siti Nurbaya Bakar.

Then, there is also the Head of the Authority, Bambang Susantono and his deputy, Dhony Rahajoe.

“For the evening’s agenda, we don’t know yet. What is certain is that there is a large meeting room at the IKN location,” said Ivan.

It was previously reported that dozens of governors who participated in the Kendi Nusantara ritual procession had returned to their respective regions. At least 34 provincial heads from all over Indonesia were invited to attend the zero point of the IKN to introduce water and soil into the Archipelago Kendi.

The certainty that the governors will not participate in camping with Jokowi at the IKN was confirmed by the Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono. However, Heru did not reveal the reason the regional heads did not go camping with Jokowi.

“All (governors) went home, except for the Governor of East Kalimantan,” concluded Heru via text message.

For information, the transfer of IKN from DKI Jakarta on the island of Java to East Kalimantan has been regulated in Law 3/2022 which was promulgated on 15 February. In the attachment to the regulation, it is stated that the progress of IKN development will take place in at least three phases, of which the first is until 2024.

The target is, in 2024, President Jokowi has moved there and carried out the RI Proclamation ceremony at IKN. The relocation of the capital city from DKI to East Kalimantan is regulated through a Presidential Decree, in which case the capital city is still in Jakarta.

Referring to Law 3/2022 concerning IKN, the central government core area (KIPP) will be in an area that is currently still known as Sepaku District. Then for regional development or expansion it will take up a number of sub-districts in Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan.
