An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 rocked the West Sumatra region on Friday (25/2) morning. BMKG noted that the earthquake occurred at 08.39 WIB.
According to the BMKG, the West Sumatra earthquake was located at 0.15 north latitude, 99.98 east longitude or 17 km northeast of West Pasaman.
“The depth of the earthquake was 10 km,” the BMKG said.
This earthquake did not trigger a tsunami. There has been no detailed explanation from the BMKG regarding the damage and casualties caused by the West Sumatra earthquake.
