Boluarte assumed the presidency on December 7 after Pedro Castillo attempted to dissolve parliament to form an emergency government. but was jointly voted by MPs to remove him from office sooner Initially, Ms Boluarte said at the swearing-in ceremony that she will remain in office until the end of Castillo’s five-year term.
