“Dutch Royals Attend Leavers Celebration at UWC Atlantic, Princess Alexia Completes Education”

The UWC marks the end of the exam period with the traditional Leavers Celebration, which took place today. Whether Alexia also passed with flying colors remains to be seen. The final results of the exams are expected at the beginning of July.

King Willem-Alexander, who also went to UWC Atlantic himself, and King Máxima were also there in Wales on Saturday.

The Spanish Princess Leonor also completed her education at UWC Atlantic. Photos shared by the Spanish royal family on social media show that her parents, King Felipe and Queen Letizia, were present at the prom in Wales.

Two years ago, Alexia completed her secondary education at the Christelijk Gymnasium Sorghvliet in The Hague. On August 30, 2021, she left for Wales to obtain her International Baccalaureate there. Once she has her diploma, she can go to college. Máxima already indicated in her interview with Matthijs van Nieuwkerk in 2021 that Alexia would prefer to study in the Netherlands, but does not yet know which study it will be. According to royalty expert Annemarie de Kunder, it will take some getting used to for Alexia, who has recently felt quite anonymous in Wales. “Alexia will still have to regularly grab her white cap and sunglasses. Because in the Netherlands, the princess is just that little bit better known than in remote Wales.”

Last week, the royal family announced that Princess Ariane, the youngest daughter of Willem-Alexander and Máxima, is also attending school across the border. She goes to the UWC Adriatic in Italy.
