Monday, March 7, the Dutch Pastry Award and Best Bonbon of the Netherlands will start at 9.45 am in Evenementenhal Gorinchem, where Easyfairs (organizer of Bakkersvak) is the facilitator. The matches can be followed live throughout the day via the YouTube channel of the Dutch Pastry Team. Which participants can you follow closely via the stream? And where do they get inspiration from?
On Monday 7 March, passionate patissiers will take part in the Dutch Pastry Award and the Best Bonbon in the Netherlands competitions. This also applies to Noa Vlemmix, who has lost her heart to the patisserie. “As a potential winner of the Dutch Pastry Award, I want to inspire others and show that if you keep your goal in mind, you can achieve your goal. My highest goal is to show the world that patisserie can be an experience”, says Noa Vlemmix. Nina van Galen also likes to challenge herself during the Dutch Pastry Award. “It gives a lot of motivation to sign up for a competition to keep challenging yourself and become the best in your profession,” says Nina van Galen. She keeps an eye on social media for the latest techniques and recipes. With eight other participants, Nina and Noa will compete for the title of Best Pastry Chef in the Netherlands for a year.
Best Bonbon in the Netherlands
In the afternoon the competition for the Best Bonbon in the Netherlands starts; a beautiful chocolate competition that started in 2020. The professional Dutch Pastry Team jury assesses the chocolates on technique, structure and taste. The winner will receive a trophy for the trophy cabinet and an extensive report in the seasonal magazine Culinaire Saisonnier.
