Since Monday (November 21), Düsseldorf has ramped up vaccination capacities and opened a vaccination center in the former central library at the main train station.
Düsseldorf. Where until recently books could be borrowed, many corona vaccinations are now supposed to be piqued: The city of Düsseldorf has opened a vaccination center in the former rooms of the central library at the main train station.
“I think the rush in front of the door, which you all saw, shows that we are absolutely right and that no day should have passed longer,” said Mayor Stephan Keller (CDU) on Monday.

In the “Vaccination Center 2.0”, which was set up at short notice, around 1800 people could currently receive a first, second or booster vaccination per day. The capacity can also be expanded.
“We now have to vaccinate, vaccinate, vaccinate,” emphasized Keller. When the state capital was forced to close its vaccination center at the end of September, the municipalities were only given a complementary and coordinating role in the vaccination campaign.
“We never really believed it would stay that way,” says Keller. Therefore, the city then operated two decentralized vaccination centers and a vaccination mobile. (dpa)
