ADulquer Salmaan opens up about his life partner Mal. The actor revealed that he has known Amal since his school days but only got to know him after growing up. The actor was speaking in an interview given to YouTube channel Bollywood Bubble.
“We started talking in the early 2000s. Then comes social media. Amal was my junior in school. She is studying in 7th standard while I am studying in high school. He was a little boy. But that day I did not see her in those eyes.
In our family, boys are told to settle down when they reach a certain age. Either we have to find the child ourselves. Or it will be arranged marriage. I am not interested in arranged marriage. I can’t go to girls and say I like them or I don’t like them. That’s why I said ‘no’ to arranged marriage.
Where we live in Chennai everyone knows back and forth. Although I knew everyone there, I did not know much about Amal. I met Amal just two weeks ago. Even though I have been there for so long, this is the first time I have seen her come out. I suddenly wondered where this girl came from. I started seeing her when I was going to the cinema and going to the parlour. In fact, I saw it as a sign.
I messaged her on Facebook once. He left the message saying that he was his senior when he was in school. Then we decided to meet. But all this was done with the knowledge of the family. I only know that he is a boy who studied in my school. My friends know her too. Then I felt that there was a possibility of our marriage.
I told her at home if you all are interested. Then we saw with everyone’s knowledge. It looked like old school mates going out for tea. We went for a car drive that day. Later went to Pondicherry trip. That’s when I realized that she was interested in marriage,” said Dulquer.
Dulquer and Amal are getting married on 22 December 2011. The daughter’s name is Maryam Amira Salman.
