“With yesterday’s incident (Kanjuruhan), which we feel like possible players, not to mention the Persebaya (players) who played against Arema, even after the incident we didn’t want to play football anymore,” he said. Tony, quoted by detik Jabar.

“At that moment we thought, why play football until something like this happened?” She added.

Tony said, football is actually something that is done with the goal of entertaining and bringing happiness. According to him, a football match is not worth the price of a single life lost. “Playing football to entertain the fans when they go to the stadium,” he said.

On the same occasion, Dedi Kusnandar revealed that he immediately contacted the players of the Arema when he learned of the fatal accident. Dedi said the Arema players were only able to leave the stadium at 04:00 WIB and witness the death of the fans in the locker room.

“As a player I really felt it, especially after that incident I immediately contacted Arema players and it was very sad to hear their story,” he said.

“They (the Arema players) came home at 4 in the morning, they saw the victim (dead) in the locker room. Although I didn’t play, but how we felt,” he explained.

According to Dedi, the incident has traumatized many players from Arema. Singo Edan players feel very guilty about what happened to their fans. However, Dedi stressed that now is not the time to blame each other.

“The players (Arema) are traumatized, they can’t sleep. They say if they can feel blamed, because they lose. If you win, it’s impossible for something like this to happen. But it’s not the time to blame each other,” Dedi said.

The player who is familiarly called Dado really hopes there will be a great lesson from the Kanjuruhan tragedy. According to him, the victims who died were heroes and asked all fans to keep the rivalry for just 90 minutes.

“Today is the starting point, the victim is a hero. The rivalry is only 90 minutes, everyone looks together at the stadium, after the game all united for Indonesia”, concluded Dado.
