The Bariloche Andean Club communicated this Thursday that the mountain competition that unites the four most important refuges in the area and that was going to take place this Saturday, February 26 and Sunday, February 27, will take place on Monday, February 28, with all the modalities to be developed only that day.
“Due to the strong winds and the weather alert forecast for next Saturday 26 and Sunday 27, Civil Protection has declared the closure of municipal trails. This measure prevents us from regularly holding the 4Refugios 2022 Race” they expressed from the CAB, confirming that “The organization has decided to re-schedule the event for the day Monday February 28for ALL DISCIPLINES”.
In the same letter they detailed the changes that some of the distances will undergo, since instead of two days to compete it will only be available on Monday: The 1 Refuge race will maintain the original circuit, the 2Refugios will be modified by making the circuit through Laguna Negra Refuge – Refugio López, with start and finish in Colonia Suiza.
In the 4R Classic, only the circuit of the second day (Laguna Negra – López) will be carried out with start and finish in Colonia Suiza and a differentiated classification of the 2Refugios “Those who participate in this way will receive a credit for the economic difference between the 2Refugios and the 4Clasica to be used in any event of the club including the 2023 edition of 4Refugios”, affirmed the organizers.
And they also indicated that “Those who consider themselves qualified to participate in the distance of 3Refugios will be able to send their CV before Saturday at 12 pm to be evaluated during the afternoon of the same” they expressed. The 3Refugios and 4Nonstop will maintain the original route. They also assured that “Those who have their current registration and are affected by these changes will be recognized for the registration of the same distance next year in the 2023 edition.”
Accreditation and technical talks will be on SUNDAY 27 and in the next few hours the new times and place of accreditation will be announced through the CAB’s social networks. It should be remembered that there are more than 700 registered runners, from all over the country, and that it will connect the Emilio Frey, San Martin (Jakob), Manfredo Segre (Laguna Negra) and López refuges.
