Duda said that the transfer of tanks to Ukraine led to a decrease in the defense capability of Poland.
“We are counting on the support of the community, which is NATO, and we are counting on the support of the US as well as Germany,” he said.
“If our German allies supported us with a batch of tanks instead of those that we handed over to Ukraine, we would be very grateful. We had such a promise. We hear that Germany does not want to fulfill this promise. This is a big disappointment for us,” Duda said. .
DW reports that German and Polish Foreign Ministers Annalena Berbock and Zbigniew Rau said at a joint press conference in Berlin that Germany and Poland want to settle their differences over the so-called heavy arms exchange in favor of Ukraine.
