Dubai Women and Children Care Launches ‘Taste Your Words’

The Dubai Foundation for Women and Children has launched an initiative called ‘Savor Your Words’, aimed at children, adolescents and adults, to shed light on one of the most common types of bullying and ways to reduce it.

This initiative is part of the program to address bullying behavior in schools launched by the Foundation under the slogan “We have the best, our fear is not” in 2015, which aims to create sufficient awareness of bullying behavior among all individuals and stakeholders, and explains their primary role in creating a school environment free from manifestations of violence of any kind, as well as how to provide the necessary assistance to victims and perpetrators of bullying, so as to ensure compatibility for both parties scholastic, personal and social.

Sheikha Saeed Al Mansouri, Acting Director General of the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, stressed the importance of awareness of the social, psychological and legal repercussions of bullying behavior, noting that the launch of this initiative is consistent with the strategies and objectives of the Foundation targeted on ways to develop and consolidate child-friendly practices and standards, raising awareness among target groups, as well as strengthening Emirati leadership in childcare and ensuring their full rights.

He highlighted the need for a concerted effort by all educational institutions and competent bodies to raise awareness among children and adolescents, and also to cooperate to promote initiatives on this aspect among families, schools and institutions working in the fields and in childhood issues, care institutes, sports clubs, youth centers and between official and social institutions, as active partners in promoting knowledge of the child and building bridges of trust that allow him to share what is happening with his parents, teachers or people responsible for him.
