A drunken driver was prevented from driving on Sunday evening in Neuweiler-Agenbach by courageous witnesses.
According to the police, the 50-year-old got into his Mercedes around 8:40 p.m. in the area of the “Im alten Hau” street and drove off. In Blumenstrasse, witnesses prevented the driver from continuing the journey until the police arrived.
A voluntary breath alcohol test showed a value of around 2.4 per thousand. The 50-year-old does not have a valid driver’s license. He had to give a blood sample and is facing criminal charges for drunk driving and driving without a license.
