The 21-year-old young man had been out on Thursday night and had crawled into the back of an asphalt paver in the Frederik Lintstraat, Het Nieuwsblad reports. He had taken off his shoes and put them aside. The road workers who started up the machine early in the morning to let it warm up happened to look in the body and saw someone sleeping there.
When they couldn’t wake the man up, the police were called in. The student was awakened with great difficulty. He turned out to be still completely drunk and didn’t know where he was. He also had no idea how he had gotten into the asphalt paver. The man was taken by the police to sleep off his intoxication in the police cell in safer conditions.
