The volleyball team at Dresdner SC celebrated a clear away win in the Bundesliga on Saturday evening. The DSC girls clearly prevailed in the east duel at Schwarz-Weiß Erfurt with 3:0 (25:15, 28:26, 25:18). In the table, Dresden remains in second place behind Stuttgart.
In sentences one and three, the Dresdeners dictated what was happening on the field in front of 308 spectators with powerful tasks, stable acceptance and defense as well as variable attacking play. In the second round, the Thuringian women were able to keep things open until the end. Above all, they fought self-sacrificingly in block and field defence. They fended off three set balls from the DSC, but a mistake in attack brought the guests success again in the end. In the third section, the DSC women broke away early, and after 81 minutes the deserved victory of the cup finalists from Saxony was a done deal.
On Tuesday, coach Alexander Waibl’s protégés will continue their final group game in the Champions League at home against the Ukrainian representative Dnipro. (with dpa)
