A father and his daughter drowned Thursday afternoon in Gironde. Another child of the family is missing.
A decimated family. A father and his three children on vacation in Gironde bathed Thursday afternoon in an unsupervised area in Carcans, Gironde. The 46-year-old man and his 17-year-old daughter drowned, presumably trapped by the current of a baïne, reports France Blue Gironde. A 13-year-old son is still missing. Only the third 10-year-old was brought back alive to the shore by surfers.
The teenager’s body was found 1 kilometer from the beach by the CRS-lifeguards while her father was brought back unconscious to the sand. The emergency services failed to revive him. The CRS supported by a helicopter from the Dragon 33 civil security tried to find the missing child for several hours before suspending the search at nightfall.
