The Ski Flying World Championships will begin on Thursday in Bad Mitterndorf, where Lanisek would certainly be one of the medal candidates. But it won’t. The portal siol.net reports that Lanisek suffered an injury that excludes him from competitions for about two months.
– Anze injured his right knee while landing in training. The diagnosis showed that the collateral ligament was damaged, but fortunately no surgery was required. He will temporarily have to wear a knee brace. We expect that the recovery will take about two months, said the Slovenian team doctor.
Lanisek is determined to return to competition during the 2023/24 season. – I feel fine. My attention is now turned to successful rehabilitation. I plan to return to World Cup competitions this season. I’m glad the injury wasn’t more serious, he said.
The Slovenians also decided that Ziga Jelar would take Lanisko’s place in the Slovenian team for the Ski Flying World Championships.
