DRACHTEN – Due to the corona crisis, the annual National Veterans Day could not continue on Saturday as it traditionally happened. The largest parade in The Hague gave way to small ceremonies in the country. Also in Drachten, attention was paid to the veterans.
The veterans start the day in a military way. After they had already hung the Veterans flag at their home, they were present at 7.30 am at the town hall in Drachten with a small delegation to pay a salute during the hoisting of the Dutch tricolor and the Veterans flag.
