Dr. Myasnikov told how to identify dangerous moles

TV presenter and doctor Alexander Myasnikov told Rossiya on the air how to identify a mole that can degenerate into melanoma.

Myasnikov suggested using the “A, B, C, D, E” scale to evaluate moles. A is the first sign of danger. This is the asymmetry in the structure of the mole. If it is divided in half, then the two halves will be different sizes. B is the second sign, “border,” which refers to the borders of a mole. If the moles are clear, then there is nothing to fear, but if blurry, then this is an occasion to think.

The third sign is C, or “color,” which means the color of the mole. Malignant mole unevenly colored.

The fourth symptom is D. This is the diameter. The diameter of a normal mole does not exceed 6 mm. Anything more is already a sign of melanoma.

And the last, fifth sign is E, or “evolution,” the evolution of a mole. If over time it does not grow and does not change color, then there is nothing to fear. If the opposite, then it is worth worrying.

Myasnikov also noted that white-skinned and fair-haired people are more likely to suffer from melanomas.
