“Dr DisRespect” aka Guy Beahm is one of the biggest Twitch streamers. Now he is banned – possibly even permanently.
Schnauzer, sunglasses and mullet wig – “Dr DisRespect” is one of the most famous faces among the Twitch streamers. Now he was suddenly banned from the streaming platform. Its subscribers have already received the money for the monthly subscription.
The reasons for the ban are unclear, Twitch never publicly explains his bans. Guy Beahm – what his real name is “Dr DisRespect” – has not yet commented on friends of the streamer saying that he himself does not know why he was banned. Only his wife – known by the nickname “Mrs. Assassin” – did shortly afterwards published an Instagram story. in which she thanks for the support and support of the fans.
Permanently banned?
Some suspect that it has to do with copyright violations. Twitch is currently strictly against this, for example if streamers have copyright-protected music playing in the background. E-sports insider Rod “Slasher” Breslau even said in an interview that he had learned from reliable sources that it was a permanent ban – and had nothing to do with copyright violations. This is currently fueling speculation. But he doesn’t know more himself, as he explains on Twitch.
The US portal “Kotaku” also claims to have learned from three different sources in the Twitch environment that “Dr DisRespect” is permanently banned. However, the sources could not say anything about the backgrounds either. The ban comes out extremely surprising, because Twitch doesn’t have an exclusive deal until March 2020over several years with “Dr Disrespect closed”. As Kotaku reports, Dr Disrespect is said to earn $ 10 million a year from the deal.
Banned once
“Dr DisRespect” had already been banned by Twitch last year, but only for a limited time. Back then he had been messing around with a camera team at the E3 computer game fair and had crossed some boundaries for the organizer E3 and Twitch.
His fans love the art figure that Guy Beahm created with “Dr DisRespect”. The name usually says it all: it is not uncommon for him to brag about his skills and physical fitness with mock arrogance and disparagingly talk about other pro gamers and streamers.
