Dpcm, Musumeci to Tgcom24: “In Sicily a bill to postpone the closing of restaurants to 10pm or 11pm”

28 October 2020 14:54

Once approved, the provision (possible thanks to the special Statute) could be examined by the Regional Assembly as early as next week

Musumeci announced that he is “adopting a bill that provides, together with the restrictive measures already conceived and practiced, the possibility of adopting extensive measures where the government allows to do so, as in the detailed legislation. We claim the right to be able to say : Mr. Prime Minister, we intend to move the closing time of bars and restaurants from 6pm to 10pm or 11pm. And I hope that the central government will take our prerogative into account “.

Musumeci then underlined that “the clash with the state was not lacking on some occasions, but was determined by a lack of preventive opportunity for confrontation and sometimes by the lack of institutional etiquette. I am thinking of the latest provision of the Conte government, presented to us a few hours before but the text was already written: we had made proposals but they were not accepted. All this does not help to work with a united spirit “.

The provision, made possible thanks to Article 17 of the Special Statute (which allows the Region to legislate on hygiene and public health matters and on matters involving services of regional interest), once approved could come to the examination of the Ars la next week thanks to the preferential lane provided by the President of the Assembly, Gianfranco Miccichè.
