Dovizioso Tells Strange Situations at the Mandalika MotoGP Test

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Two Yamaha RNF riders, Andrea Dovizioso and Darryn Binder talk about the strange situation that happened on the first day Mandalika MotoGP testFriday (11/2).

The MotoGP riders had the first day of testing in a less than ideal situation. This is due to the muddy condition of the Mandalika Circuit track.

The Mandalika MotoGP test was even temporarily suspended after the red flag was raised. The muddy conditions of the circuit meant that the test was stopped for about an hour.

In not ideal conditions, Dovizioso spent 57 laps to test the ability of his motorbike. He also said that the tire grip on the track is relatively low.

“I’m happy with the way we started the three days of testing because I was able to find a good line in very strange situations because the grip was very low,” said Dovizioso in a Yamaha RNF release.

“In the end we were able to improve braking which is very important for me and very important for my riding style.”

Meanwhile, Binder, who is a debutant, said that the first day of testing at the Mandalika Circuit was the most difficult day of his career on the MotoGP stage.

“I have to learn a new track and in the worst conditions you can possibly experience. I struggled at the start of the test,” he said.

Dovizioso ended the first day of the Mandalika MotoGP test by occupying the ninth position. Meanwhile, Binder is in the 23rd position of the 24 drivers who tested the Mandalika Circuit.
