The ERNE de la Ertzaintza union will meet on Monday with the Prevention Committee of the Security Department to learn about the Astrazeneca Vaccine Safety, the drug that police officers under 55 years of age have received and that has now been involved under suspicion after Norway, Denmark and Iceland will paralyze their inoculation due to cases of thrombi. The European Medicines Agency (EMA) has defended the efficacy of the vaccine, indicated for the moment for those under 55 years of age, but the questions and doubts have multiplied in the last hours.
The Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, said this morning that the batch of the vaccine that other countries have withdrawn due to alleged clotting problems and that is being investigated, “has already been supplied and administered” in Spain, so it has made a appeal to “tranquility” because in our country only “slight” effects have been registered.
In Basque Country, to date they have been administered 24,977 doses of Astrazeneca. Among the groups that have received this vaccine are Ertzaintza agents, teachers or firefighters, among others.
