Governor Wanda Vázquez Garced nominated engineer Doriel I. Pagán Crespo as executive president of the Water and sewage Authority (AAA).
Until now, the official worked as vice president of the public corporation. Vázquez Garced also reported that the AAA Governing Board confirmed the appointment of the official that will be effective on February 28.
“I am pleased to recommend and present to the Government Board the consideration of Mr. Doriel I. Pagán Crespo as executive president of the AAA before the resignation of Mr. Elí Díaz Atienza, who did a commendable job and we appreciate his dedication as a servant public. I am confident that the extensive experience, commitment and excellent trajectory of Ing. Pagán Crespo in this new assignment will contribute significantly to the success of this important entity for the benefit of the people of Puerto Rico”, Said the first executive through written statements.
Before being vice president of the AAA, Pagán Crespo was director and executive deputy director of the northern region of the public corporation. Between 2008 and 2009 she was assistant director of compliance and quality control of Arecibo of the public corporation and also directed the Arecibo area of the AAA from 1998 to 2008.
His arrival comes at the resignation of Elí Díaz Atienza, which will be effective on February 27.

For his part, Díaz Atienza was satisfied with the nomination of Pagan Crespo and indicated that he “has been an instrumental person in the management of AAA operations in his role as vice president.”
“Its work after the hurricanes of 2017, during the drought process and recently during the earthquakes has been a total commitment to the people of Puerto Rico. I wish Doriel the greatest success in this assignment. The AAA is in very good hands, ”said who was also representative of the governor before the Board of Fiscal Supervision (JSF).
Pagán Crespo has a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez University Campus.
