AP / Reuters – EU drug regulators, the EMA, last today (6 Jan) Approved that Moderna vaccine can be used. It is the second vaccine to be approved after the Pfizer-Bio-Tech vaccine.
The AP reported on Wednesday that the European Union Drug Organization on Wednesday made it possible for 27 members to obtain Moderna vaccine against the crippling COVID-19 at the time. this
Moderna vaccine authorization was made in accordance with the recommendations of the European Medicines Agency’s Human Medicines Committee (EMA).
EMA Executive Director Emer Cooke said, “This vaccine will give us another tool to overcome today’s emergency situations.”
Reuters reports that the EU has ordered 160 million doses of Modena vaccine, enough to be distributed to approximately 80 million people in 27 countries across Europe.
The United States, the first nation to approve the emergency use of Modena vaccine, requires vaccination to people aged 18 years and over.
The EU begins a vaccine program following the UK and the US. It started on Dec. 27, but the speed of vaccination varies from country to country, for example France was only able to distribute the vaccine 500, compared to Germany’s 200,000. The people of the Netherlands just started today (6).
