BEIJING, KOMPAS.TV – Chinese diplomat Victor Gao stressed that his country poses a dire threat to Australia and the United States (US) if it protects Taiwan.
Gao, who was a former translator of Chinese communist leader Deng Xiaoping and is now a government funnel, warned western countries to step out of China’s efforts to annex Taiwan.
China until recently regarded Taiwan as their province of escape.
However, Taiwan insists it is an independent and sovereign nation after the civil war in 1949.

Taiwan is currently also getting support from the US and Australia who have pledged to protect their sovereignty.
This clearly angered China, which is determined to retake Taiwan.
Moreover, Chinese President Xi Jinping has repeatedly revealed his plans to take over Taiwan by 2027.
“All who wish to hinder unification will be doomed to failure,” Gao said on the TV program 60 Minutes quoted from Daily Mail.
“If Australia wants to fight alongside US troops in China’s quest for reunification between mainland China and Taiwanese China, then you are talking about the worst thing you can dream of. The war between China and the US,” he added.
