The government says it receives a huge number of applications in June every year. To be ahead of the busy period and to be able to “go into the summer carefree”, the service calls on parents to submit their applications now. “In this way we can ensure a correct service and limit the processing time,” says the RVA.

Applying for parental leave is done in several steps. First, the employer must be informed. With the agreement of the employer, the application can then be submitted to the RVA, preferably digitally, according to the service.
