Doni Salmanan had gone viral with his calm reaction when he was arrested by the police. According to his attorney, Ikbar Firdaus, Doni has been sincere with his sentence.
“He just surrendered and prayed, that’s why he was calm, that’s his reason,” said Ikbar Firdaus when contacted by the media crew recently.
Even Ikbar said that Doni could only pray after knowing that he would be arrested. Doni is also said to have accepted God’s destiny.
“He believes more that what happened was God’s will,” he added.
It is known that the Bareskrim Polri has named Doni Salmanan as a suspect. Because of his actions, Doni will be subject to multiple articles, namely Article 45 paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 28 paragraph (1) of Law Number 19 of 2016 concerning Amendments to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning ITE with a penalty of 6 years in prison.
Article 378 of the Criminal Code concerning Fraud with a threat of 4 years in prison and Article 3 of Law Number 8 of 2010 concerning the Prevention and Eradication of the Crime of Money Laundering (TPPU) with a threat of 20 years in prison. Until now, Doni Salmanan is still in the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police.
