Annika Sörenstam made a temporary comeback on the US tour in February to feel the hot air. There she passed the qualifying limit, but got two tough final rounds.
The idea with the comeback was that she would play at the seniors US Open later this summer.
The 50-year-old has now signed up for the competition at Brooklawn CC in Fairfield, Connecticut, which is played between July 29 and August 1.
Sörenstam, who is also chairman of the International Golf Federation, therefore misses being present at the men’s competition at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. Possibly the Swede will go to Tokyo for the women’s competition on 4-7 August.
