District supports DRK campaign with its own rooms in schools

(11.03.2022) The Main-Taunus-Kreis supports the blood donation campaign of the German Red Cross. As District Administrator Michael Cyriax announced, he will be making rooms in the Heinrich von Brentano School in Hochheim available for this on Friday, March 18th.

In addition, further public events are planned for the district schools this year. “A blood donation can save lives,” said Cyriax. “With our support, we want to make a contribution to people’s safety.”
The blood donation appointment at the Heinrich von Brentano School runs from 4:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. Due to the restrictions imposed by Corona, an appointment must be reserved via the internet platform https://terminreservierung.blutspende.de/. The 3G rule applies to the appointment itself. Freshly vaccinated people can donate blood from the day after the vaccination, but they should be healthy and feel fit. Further dates are planned for this year at the Heinrich von Brentano School, as well as at the Heinrich Böll School in Hattersheim and the Brühlwiesen School in Hofheim. They will be announced by the Red Cross.
“Anyone who gets vaccinated against Corona and donates blood contributes twice to the safety of people,” explains Cyriax. By offering its schools for such appointments, the district wants to support the donors and the German Red Cross in their dedicated work. “The district is already striving to use its schools outside of the classroom and to promote commitment.” As an example, he cites the school gymnasiums, which can also be used by clubs free of charge.
