US President Donald Trump says Monday more than one million people have now been tested for the new coronavirus Covid-19 to USA.
“Today we are taking a historic step in our war against the coronavirus“Donald Trump said during a press conference at the White House.”Over a million Americans have been tested – more than any other country by far“Quoting the Secretary of State for Health, Alex Azar, he said that nearly 100,000 tests were performed per day in the USA, countries with the most diagnosed cases in the world, about 160,000.
The Trump administration has been criticized for delaying deploying tests, and state governors continue to complain about a lack of testing capacity.

Ford and General Electrics promise to manufacture 50,000 respirators in 100 days
The American car manufacturer Ford has made a commitment with the General Electric (GE) industrial group to produce 50,000 respirators in 100 days to help fight the Covid-19 pandemic which is also raging across the Atlantic.
Production is slated to begin on April 20, with 500 workers working 24 hours a day in three shifts, Ford said Monday.
The companies are counting on a production capacity of 30,000 units per month in early July, after the first 100 days.
Ford is also building plastic face protectors and helping to increase the production capacity of respirators for the American conglomerate 3M.
Several large American firms have already informed the government of their desire to help manufacture medical equipment, including Ford’s competitor, General Motors.
