“Donald Trump Promises to End Ukraine War in One Day If Elected: CNN Town Hall Recap”

Former US President Donald Trump, who is currently running for the influential position, has said that he would be able to resolve and stop Russia’s brutal war against Ukraine within one day.

These statements were made by Trump in the special TV channel CNN’s “Town Hall” program, where he could be asked questions by both its leader and the audience present in the hall. One of the questions was about the war in Ukraine and how Trump, if elected, would deal with the threat posed by Putin’s regime.

The ex-president first claimed that this war “never would have happened” if he were in the White House. This phrase has been repeated by Trump in interviews since the beginning of the war. Also, the candidate of the Republican Party complained about the fact that the USA provides more military support to Ukraine than European countries do.

“If I’m president, I’m going to end this war in one day, in 24 hours,” Trump said. “I would meet with [Krievijas prezidentu Vladimiru] Putin, I would meet with [Ukrainas prezidentu Volodimiru] Zelensky – they both have weaknesses, they both have strengths, and within 24 hours this war would be resolved, it would be over,” he continued.

Trump was evasive when asked if he wanted Ukraine to win. “I don’t think in terms of wins and losses. I think about that [kara] solution so that all these people stop dying.” When asked specifically for the second time about which country he wants to see win this war, Trump repeatedly evaded the answer and emphasized that he wants to see an end to the deaths.

The ex-president of the USA stated that Putin made a “huge mistake” by starting a war against Ukraine. Asked if he thought Putin should be considered a war criminal, Trump said it shouldn’t be discussed now. “We should talk about it later (..)
