Donald Trump is in for a busy spring in 2024. The campaign for the US presidential election will then have started in full force. But Trump will also have to focus his attention on at least two (and possibly even three or four) lawsuits.

The latest case against Trump revolves around electoral fraud in the state of Georgia following the recent presidential election. The former president and eighteen others are suspected of trying to influence the result of Georgia.

Chief Prosecutor Fani Willis on Wednesday proposed that the case should begin on March 4. If the court agrees, Trump will be very busy from that moment on.

On March 25, the criminal case against Trump will start in New York over a suspicious payment of hush money to porn actress Stormy Daniels. The former president is due to appear in court in Florida in May. That case revolves around the withholding of secret documents at his Mar-A-Lago residential resort.

In addition, Special Counsel Jack Smith has asked the Washington DC court to quickly set a date for the trial of Trump’s role in the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Trump’s lawyers should soon provide a preferred date for that case. Smith wants the case to be heard “as soon as possible”.

Camp Trump favors postponement until after election

So Trump may be embroiled in four lawsuits at once next summer. In July, the Republicans then choose who will participate on behalf of the party in the November presidential election.

Trump is ahead of other Republican candidates in the polls. On behalf of the Democrats, incumbent President Joe Biden will run for re-election.

Trump’s lawyers are trying to postpone the impending trials as much as possible, preferably until after November. Should Trump win, he could pardon himself in some cases.
