Doña María River overflows and Canutillo Bridge collapses – Uno TV

Due to heavy rains caused by the Tropical Depression 14 that since Saturday was present in Mexico, during the last 24 hours, the overflow of the river Doña María in the state of Chiapas, caused the collapse of the Canutillo vehicular bridge and Acapetahua.

  • According to state Civil Protection, the collapsed bridge connects Colonia Soconusco with Ranchería Canutillo in the municipality of Acapetahua, which collapsed due to the strong flood.

Authorities immediately addressed the cases of affectations reported with floods caused by the Tropical Depression 14 in the Canta Rana, San Jerónimo 1 and 2, and La Cañada neighborhoods from the Soconusco neighborhood.

Family is rescued

A family was trapped in the middle of the overflowing river Doña María so elements of Civil Protection rescued:

  • 11-year-old Alison “N”
  • Luis Ulberto “N”, 9 years old
  • Sky “N” 14 years
  • 18-year-old Cintia “N”
  • Gustavo “N”, 21 years old
  • All members of the family belong to Acapetahua.

Therefore, the authorities made a call to the general public to keep informed through the official announcements in this rainy season.
