Miami Dolphins (3-3) – New York Jets (0-6) : 24-0
Week after week, the Jets continue to drag their sentence on the lawns of the NFL. This Sunday again, New York did not exist against a team from Miami which, without being exceptional, outclassed its opponent in all compartments. Joe Flacco (21/44, 186 yards and 1 INT) has constantly been harassed without finding solutions. And when he had an open catcher and a little bit of time, he rarely got it right. Conversely, Ryan Fitzpatrick (18/27, 191 yards, 3 TDs and 2 INTs) and Myles Gaskin (18 runs for 91 yards) are on their way to what they did last week and had fun with the Jets.
Dolphins at a trot
At the start of the match, it only takes a drive to the Dolphins to adjust the sights. Three snaps and a punt on the first offensive series for Miami and the machine is on. The second period is not much better. The only difference is that even the Dolphins don’t score anymore. A simple field goal at the end of the third quarter (24-0) and then nothing. Nothingness on both sides. Symbol of this purge, the number of third converted attempts: 3 out of 26 possible. An offensive ineffectiveness which resulted in 17 punts in the meeting. It is therefore difficult to imagine anything interesting in these conditions. Suddenly, to pass the time, the two quarterbacks play who will do the biggest mistake. Joe Flacco then responds tit for tat with a sack that lost 28 yards to his team while New York was in a position to score its first points. At the end of the game, the Jets can not even save the honor despite four attempts in the opposing 10 yards. This end of the game will at least have the advantage of allowing us to see Tua Tagovailoa (2/2 for 9 yards) for the first time in the NFL. The Dolphins pitcher has been thrown into the deep end even though it is impossible to learn any lessons from it.
In any case, the Dolphins won this match easily without taking a single point. A first for 6 years. Miami is also back in front of the Patriots in the AFC East. As for the Jets, however, the franchise continues its long Stations of the Cross this season and the pressure is increasingly heavy on the shoulders of Adam Gase. Not sure he’s still here next week.
