Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The rupiah exchange rate against the United States (US) dollar weakened in the middle rate of Bank Indonesia (BI). The rupiah which opened higher is now sluggish in trade spot market.
On Tuesday (8/9/2020), the BI middle rate or the reference turtle for the Jakarta Interbank Spot Dollar Rate / Jisdor was at IDR 14,798. Rupiah weakened 0.3% compared to the previous day’s position.
Meanwhile on the spot market, the rupiah weakened 0.34% at 10:00 WIB. It’s a shame, because the rupiah still strengthened 0.2% when the market opened.
What can I do, the rupiah must be in the same boat as other major Asian currencies which cannot do much in front of the US dollar. Almost all of the Yellow Continent’s currencies have weakened, leaving the Taiwan dollar on the green track.
