So, if you consume a dose of vitamin C that exceeds the body’s ability, it will be excreted through the urine, which means it will make the performance of the kidneys harder because they have to filter the dose of vitamin C needed.

“Then, once the body’s tissues are saturated with vitamin C (or abundant content), the excess amount will be excreted through urine,” he explained.

In conclusion, said doctor Gia, for healthy adults consuming high doses of vitamin C is not harmful, but it will be a problem for people with kidney disorders, because it can aggravate the formation of kidney stones.

Especially for people with digestive disorders, stomach acid, diarrhea, to stomach pain, vitamin C can threaten health.

“This means that in healthy individuals, high doses of vitamin C do not harm the body, as long as it does not exceed the maximum dose limit of 2,000 milligrams per day,” concluded doctor Gia.
