Arrived in the final with Filippo Bisciglia who today is known mainly for the Temptation Island run, Augusto De Mengi won the prize money of 900,000 thousand euros. The story of Augustus was already known to the Italian public who had heard it through the media for a very long time. When he came back on TV he was a man, grown up who told the sad adventure of him that happened when he was just a kid. This is why everyone became fond of Augusto during his 99 days of stay in the most spied house in Italy. From the kidnapping to the victory of Big Brother. In 2006 everyone rejoiced for Augusto De Mengi’s victory at Big Brother
On October 3, 1990, robbers wearing balaclavas broke into Augusto’s villa. At home the child was alone with his father who was immobilized by the robbers who took the child away. Augusto’s parents immediately sent messages to the robbers through press releases. They were willing to pay any ransom just to be able to hug Augusto again. The request of the kidnappers came after a while and amounted to 20 billion lire, today 10 million euros. Meanwhile Augusto was kept in a cave in Volterra. The ransom, however, was never paid because the judiciary dismissed all the assets of the family. Augusto was released from the NOCS on January 22, 1991 where the kidnappers are also arrested.
Augusto told many details of his kidnapping during his experience at the Gf but he also talked about his passion for football. At fifteen, despite the fright and nightmare he had experienced, he decided to leave the family home to live alone and play football. Augusto also played for Serie D as a goalkeeper before joining Genoa’s Serie B team.
After the victory of the Big Brother he confessed that with the rich prize money he got some “whim”. He bought his dream home and decided to travel. Some trips were unthinkable for Augusto. Thanks to his Instagram profile where some of his supporters continue to follow him, we know that he has left football for golf. He has also become a dad and has two dogs. We do not currently know what he deals with him because this has never leaked from social media or stated in some interviews.
