Online retail is also suffering from the corona crisis, especially small and medium-sized retailers. The reasons for this vary and range from industry-specific difficulties to problems with logistics service providers. That was the result of surveys by the dealer association, for example. Nevertheless, the New Corona Help has so far not been aimed at online retail. Only companies of all sizes, companies, self-employed persons, associations and institutions that have to cease their business due to a state order during the lockdown are eligible to apply. These are of course mainly members of the event and culture industry, gastronomy or tattoo and fitness studios.
For the duration of the lockdown, those affected receive compensation for the loss of sales, which amounts to up to 75 percent of the monthly sales of the previous year. As long as an online retailer does not have to close due to a state regulation, he is not eligible to apply.
