Cambodia worried about Covid-19 epidemic, orders all students of M.6 no need to take exams but automatically pass
Cambodian Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Hang Chuan Nara said Prime Minister Hun Sen ordered the ministry to approve all grade 12 or grade 6 students who are about to take the national test on the date. January 11th next year, pass the exam automatically without having to take the exam This is to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and not worry students about contracting the infection during testing.
In addition, it was also announced that grade 9 or Secondary 3 students who had passed the exam on Nov. 30, the past passed the exam automatically.
According to the Ministry of Education This year, there are 121,108 Grade 12 students who will be required to take the test, while Grade 9 has taken the test in a total of 158,717.
The decision to stop the national test comes after Cambodia’s first domestic coronavirus infection was found on Nov. 28. They are six family members who live in a community in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap Province.
