DKI Deputy Governor Convinced Anies Wasn’t Involved in Land Corruption in Munjul

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria stated the plan of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to examine the Governor Anies Baswedan in case of suspicion land corruption in Munjul, Cipayung, East Jakarta, is fully under the authority of law enforcement.

However, he believes that Anies was not involved in the alleged corruption case.

“Everything is under the authority of law enforcement. But I am sure that Mr. Anies is far from being involved in land (corruption) affairs in Jakarta,” said Riza at Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday (14/7).

Riza admitted that he did not know much about land acquisition in Munjul, Cipayung, East Jakarta. The reason is that he also only served as Deputy Governor in 2020, while the land acquisition for Munjul was included in the 2019 budget year.

“As far as I know he was not involved, and I did not know about the problem (the Munjul land acquisition), and I believe Mr Anies was not involved in cases like that,” he said.

KPK chairman Firli Bahuri revealed that his party could summon DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan regarding the alleged corruption case in land acquisition in Munjul, Cipayung, East Jakarta.

Firli said, as the number one person in Jakarta, of course Anies understands the preparation of the DKI APBD. Therefore, KPK investigators did not rule out summoning Anies to ask for information regarding the alleged corruption case.

“In the preparation of the DKI APBD budget program, the Governor of DKI is very understanding, as well as the DKI DPRD which has the duty of authority to determine the RAPBD to become APBD together with the DKI Regional Government,” said Firli in his written statement, Monday (12/7).

“Should have known about the allocation of the DKI land acquisition budget. So of course it is necessary to ask for information, so that (the case) becomes clear,” he added.

In this case, the KPK suspects that the state has suffered a loss of Rp. 152.5 billion. The KPK indicated that the money had been used for the personal interests of the perpetrators in this case.

The KPK has named five suspects in this case, including former Director of Perumda Pembangunan Sarana Jaya Yoory Corneles Pinontoan, Deputy Director of PT Adonara Propertindo Anja Runtuwene, Tommy Adrian, Director of PT Aldira Berkah Abadi Makmur Rudy Hartono Iskandar, and the corporation PT Adonara Propertindo.
