Fazer’s Froosh smoothies were found to contain excessively high levels of patulin.
Fazer announces that it is withdrawing Froosh Strawberry, Banana & Guava smoothies from sale. Fazer instructs consumers who have purchased the products to dispose of them.
The reason for the recall is an excessive patulin content found in the raw material of the products. Patulin is a mold toxin, i.e. a poison formed in mold growth.
According to Fazer, in high concentrations and long-term use, patulin is harmful to health.
Fazer says that it will reimburse consumers for withdrawn products.
