Discovery of Suspected Gold Jewelry Causes Stir at Mulo Forest Management Resort in Gunungkidul Regency

The discovery of objects suspected of being gold jewelry at the Mulo Forest Management Resort (RPH), Gunungkidul Regency caused a stir. The jewelry, thought to be gold, was apparently found by officers while cleaning up rubbish.

Mulo RPH officer, Wahyudi, said that his party found the jewelry that looked like gold while carrying out cleaning activities with his colleagues at the Mulo RPH at around 10.00 WIB.

“Around 10 o’clock, we were cleaning with friends at the Mulo RPH,” Wahyudi told reporters, Wednesday (27/12/2023).

Wahyudi said the jewelry he thought was gold was in fact fake or imitation.

“Earlier it was just brass. It turns out the discovery was fake gold or imitation gold,” he said.

Apart from the imitation gold jewelry, Wahyudi said several other objects were found. These include bulbs and grain that was once thought to be rice.

“It turns out it’s just grain, not rice. It’s rice seeds that have holes in them,” he said.

As previously reported, quoting from the Instagram account @sekilas_gunungkidul, a number of pieces of jewelry suspected to be gold were found by Perhutani officers while cleaning up rubbish in a teak forest.

Looking at the video from this account, you can see a man wearing a yellow gold necklace and bracelet on the side of the highway.

He also held a yellow plastic bag containing jewelry that was thought to be gold. The man was seen smiling brightly as he showed off his findings.

Apart from the jewelry, there were also two empty plastic bottles in the plastic bag. A grandfather was also seen carrying a pink sack while chattering “kae loh rice,” he said.
