At the initiative of the Sauvegarde du pays Sacradel association, we will find new signs in the streets of the village center, affixed to houses or dedicated supports. New panels which will present the history of the streets, places or emblematic characters of the town of Roquecourbe. It was after almost a year of work, carried out by a team of volunteers from the association, that 28 panels were produced to retrace this local history.
With the agreement of local owners, they will be attached to houses in strategic locations to present the life of a street or neighborhood a few decades ago with comments to present life at that time. The most perfectionists will be able to obtain additional information on their mobile phone using a QRcode.
Among other things, we can find the history of the town hall, the church and the temple, additional information on the names of the picturesque streets, the illustrious personalities native to the town, but also information on the Siloë fountain where the arrival of the commune’s Lacaune little train line.
The whole will form a discovery tour of the village from station to station to complete the tourist information and discover the little-known charms of the town.
The association will proceed with the installation of the various panels in the coming weeks. Everyone will then be able to visit with a new perspective on Roquecourbaine history.
