The slice New York has, for some, a bad reputation: cheap – and again, with inflation, it no longer exists at 1 dollar – and with somewhat simple ingredients. However, for a number of years now, the slice of XXL pizza has shed its tourist trap image. Of these two versions, as you can imagine, it is the good one that the Jay’s Pizza duo imported to our side of the world, the one which is more inspired by Industry in Brooklyn than a questionable counter in Times Square.

How can we see that a slice New York is successful? Its fine dough, here fermented for 48 hours, has a fairly indescribable crunchy-chewy texture, the one that ensures that the “slice” does not stick out and that the “fold” of the crust allows for efficient consumption. Besides, we eat the sidewalk too, dipping it in a small pot of vodka sauce – the legendary spicy tomato sauce – which gives its American prefix to its Italian root, proof once again that Italian-American culture is in the wind in the streets of Paris.

Classic cheese, pepperoni (à napper de spicy honey) and rubi (the one with the famous vodka sauce), the map is short and effective, with the slice oscillating from 3.50 euros to 5 euros. Anyway, we loved it, but please don’t open a Jay’s Pizza on my way to work, because it would be impossible for me not to grab one slice for the path passing in front.
