SEOUL – South Korean tech giant, Samsung reported to have been attacked by hackers. The attack came from a group called Lapsus$ who managed to steal up to 190GB of data.

As reported by Ubergizmo, Tuesday (8/3/2022), the stolen data includes Samsung secret codes, including details of Trusted Applets on Samsung’s TrustZone platform.

The leaked data also contains sensitive resources such as biometric authentication, activation server source code, and more. This means hackers can access Samsung systems and potentially engineer them.

Samsung said it was currently conducting an investigation and evaluation. But unfortunately it is not stated how badly the attack will have an impact on the company’s operations.

It should be noted that cyberattacks have been on the rise in recent times. Previously targeting companies from the United States, Nvidia. Lapsus$ also launched an attack on Nvidia.

It was revealed that Lapsus$ managed to retrieve employee credentials and some Nvidia proprietary information from the system and had leaked it online.

They gain access to over 1TB of Nvidia data, including schematics, driver, firmware details, and information on the whereabouts of the company’s latest GPU architecture, Hopper, and Blackwell.
