Kristalina Georgieva, chief executive of the International Monetary Fund, praised the measures recently taken by Egypt to improve and develop public spending, work on its quality and open the economy to private sector participation.
Georgieva explained, in the meeting with the program “A Last Word”, broadcast on the satellite channel “ONE”, today, Sunday, that Egypt has made great strides in the process of economic reform, and this is seen through the quality infrastructure, social protection and the ability to support families in a timely manner.
He referred to the step taken by Egypt to request support and loan from the Fund, which is very clever, because countries that try to protect their currency run out of reserves and are exposed to a more dangerous situation in the years following this journey.
The Director General of the International Monetary Fund stressed the need to ensure that the economy is protected from high interest rates and the impact of the strength of the dollar at this time.
