Director Mārtiņš Eihe / Diena has become the artistic director of Rēzekne Theater Joriks

Bočarnikov explained that when I started working in 2016, I set several goals for the theater – to establish a Latvian troupe, to improve the repertoire, to become recognizable in Latvia and to become nominees. Gamblers night, which was also achieved in 2017 and 2019.

Eihe has studied at Ogre Secondary School, Riga Secondary School No. 77, graduated from the Latvian School of Culture, Theater Studies Theater Stage and the directing department of the Latvian Academy of Culture. Since 2004 he has been an actor in Liepāja Theater, but since 2005 – a theater director. From 2006 to 2009, Eihe worked as a director at the Valmiera Drama Theater. Since 2007 he has been leading the creative association Nomads.

He has been to Eihe several times with his directed performances Gamblers Night nominations. 2015/2016 year show Smells like mushrooms received the Latvian Theater Annual Award in the category Small form show of the year. Eihe received Family pharmacy award Silver pestle 2011 as the director of the best show of the season, dedicated to the coverage of family and personal problems.

Eihe also currently works in various Latvian theaters and projects, as well as staging performances abroad. He started working at the Rezekne Theater in 2017, when he performed Fausto Paravidino Two brothers At the end of 2019, it was staged by Ingmar Bergman Autumn sonatas. This season, Mārtiņš will perform various performances in Latvian and Russian. Anton Chekhov will be a novelty and a challenge on the stage of Rezekne Theater Kaija, which will be staged bilingually for the entire ensemble of actors.
