The outgoing mayor of Neufchâteau, Dimitry Fourny, was fined along with other elected officials from his list by the local police for non-compliance with Covid-19 rules, report TV Lux and l’Avenir, citing the Luxembourg Prosecutor’s Office.
A patrol of the local police which carried out Monday evening a round to check the respect of the rules of containment was stopped by a number of important vehicles parked in front of the refreshment bar of the football club of Longlier. The police stopped there and noted that a dozen people had gathered, reporting several breaches of the measures linked to Covid-19. Among those present, the mayor of Neufchâteau, Dimitri Fourny, as well as other elected officials.
Dimitri Fourny must cede his mayorate to Michelle Mons Delle Roche during the municipal council meeting scheduled for Wednesday evening.
