DIF Chiapas volunteering promotes the Campaign Donate Books of Heart

In order to promoter reading in the child population, the DIF Chiapas Volunteer Program promotes the permanent campaign “Donate Books of Heart”, which will be allocated to the Municipal Public Libraries, as well as to the reading spaces of the Child Development and Assistance Centers Community of DIF Chiapas itself.

In this regard, the director of DIF Chiapas, Deliamaría González Flandez, stressed that promoting reading is of utmost importance so that girls, boys and adolescents can travel, learn about other cultures, and learn countless stories that help them to be better people.

He also thanked Celia Sofía de Jesús Ruiz Olvera, presiding magistrate of the State Electoral Court; Maritsa Concepción Maranto Zepeda, general director of the State Council for the Cultures and Arts of Chiapas, Coneculta, and Julio César Sánchez Esquinca, president of the Chiapas Lee Foundation, for their disposition to promote reading among children.

In her participation, Adriana Margarita López Sánchez, the coordinator of the Heart Volunteering of the DIF Chiapas, explained that the Permanent Campaign “Donate Books of Heart” aims to collect books of children’s and young people’s literature, so that they can distribute them in different public libraries of the state, as well as in the Child Development and Community Assistance Centers of DIF Chiapas itself.

He explained that thanks to Coneculta and the Chiapas Lee Foundation they will organize activities around reading, with the inclusion of texts translated into native languages. He stressed that the donation of books “Exploring Democracy” is of utmost importance for children to know and learn to participate with justice, legality, honesty, respect and social responsibility.
