In Rotterdam, someone was killed in a shooting at Tiendplein. “Emergency street surgery and an emergency rush to the hospital didn’t help,” police said.
It is unclear what preceded the shooting. Nobody was arrested. Witnesses are called to report.
Lying on the floor
According to the regional broadcaster estuary of the Rhine the shooting took place in front of a restaurant where people were eating at the time. The diners lie down on the ground.
At first they were thought to be fireworks, a witness in Rijnmond said. “But I said no, this is a bombing.” He said six or seven shots were fired. “They were single shots that didn’t sound like an automatic firearm.”
According to Rijnmond, the police are looking for a suspect.
